Once the words ROAD TRIP! are spoken,
the mind starts spinning with ideas of where to go and what to do. Your first
task is to sit with a map in front of you and start planning. The destination
is always the hardest part of the whole process. We all dream about where we
want to travel to, but where do you start?
When thinking about your destination, you will want to keep into consideration who you are with, what you can see along the way, and
how many stops for the night you might have to make. Make sure you have enough time to get to the
destination, do everything you want to do while there and get back home. There
is nothing worse than spending money and time and not being able to do everything you
want to do.
If you want to go to another province and
adventure there, consider flying there and renting a car. It will allow you to have more time at your destination to see and do what you
want. It may cost a bit more, but you will save time in the end. I did this
when I went to Nova Scotia and PEI with my three friends. It’s an adventure wherever
you are with friends.
ROAD TRIP! Just the term alone makes
anyone perk up. Who doesn't love to go on an adventure with your best friends
or explore on their own? Road trips are a great, inexpensive way to see places
that you have never seen before or to go visit old friends and family. Cruising
down the highway with the windows down, blaring great tunes with a friend and
seeing nature all around you, road trips are not just fun but they can
sometimes teach us life lessons along the way.
I
have personally been on road trips with friends and alone across Canada. From
being in a car with three friends for six days adventuring all over Nova Scotia
and P.E.I. to moving out to and from Calgary alone, I have almost seen it all. In
this blog, I will share some tips of the dos and don’ts of road trips with friends
or on an adventure alone. How to know your car before you leave, how to research
the best routes, hotels, landmarks, picking the right tunes for the journey, to
take selfies or not to take selfies, packing and eating on your journey will
all be discussed in this blog in the coming weeks with some personal insight
along the way.
With all that being said....let the journey begin.
